Training Tip of the Week

default-16x9

The second in TrainingZONE's quick tips of the week. This week's tip looks at the use of body language.

The following quick tip is excellent to use as a check list before starting a training session.

Types of body language

Postures and Gestures
How do you use hand gestures? Sitting position? Stance?

Eye contact
How's your lighthouse?

Orientation
How do you position yourself in a class?

Proximity
How close do you sit/stand to participants?

Looks/appearance
Are looks/appearance/dress important?

Expressions of emotion
Are you using facial expressions to express emotion?

In a perfect world a good trainer should have the above criteria engraved upon their brain. However, a trainers life is hectic, and the world is not always perfect! How many of these do you actually consider before each session?

TrainingZONE feels the above tip is excellent for use as a memory jogger to trainers.

Once again TrainingZONE has chosen the excellent ‘The Trainer’s Pocketbook’ by John Townsend, price £6.99, for our tip. The book is just one in a whole series of Management Pocketbooks. Why not visit the Training Mall for a full list at (TrainingZONE)

If you have your own useful tips, for Training and/or for IT, which you would like to share with others, Training Zone would love to hear from you. Please write to Kathleen Hopper
