This is an ideal publication for anyone involved in training whether or not they are familiar with NLP techniques.

The book is broken down into four logical parts, The Challenge to Trainers, Before Training, During Training & Training Evaluation. Each section is headed by a mind map, again for quick reference.

The chapters are short, easy to read and offer a thorough explanation of a particular topic under specific topic areas. For ease to the reader, at the end of the chapter the information is summarised under key points on one page. The format makes the book a publication that can be dipped into quickly to enable fast recall.

The book lends itself readily to people new to training and is simple to read and understand, being written without some of the usual Americanisms familiar in NLP publications. This is in plain and simple language and therefore does not appear threatening. It offers explanations, guidelines, activities and tips for the training processes, the trainers and the delegates.

As an experienced trainer, I found this book refreshingly simple to read, a reminder of some of the factors that had slipped into the subconscious, an affirmation of some of the concepts I use regularly, and it gave new tips where I need to focus more.

The only criticism that people could make, particularly practitioners, is that the layout of the book is very traditional, with very few deviations from the written word, (there are a couple of mind maps and diagrams). This suits my personal learning style but may not suit others.

This should be a standard book on all trainers shelves regardless whether they are familiar with NLP. It is good practice guideline for trainers.
