While many of you agreed with Paul Kearns' contention there is a
need for greater vision in HRD this week, most members pointed
out this issue of leadership extends far beyond the training and
development sector. Some members, like Joe Espana and Alex
MacCaskill, feel that the responsibility lies with those in
training who need to learn to talk business, while others, like
Lucie McDonald, maintain that HRD can have the vision and the
commitment, but it far too often hits a brick wall at board
level.
