A TrainingZONE eye view
=======================
This week, the government unveiled a new White Paper, the result
of a joint consultation between the Department for Education and
Employment and the Department of Trade and Industry. In it, the
government sets out its plans to help individuals to develop the
skills needed to meet the needs of a changing economy. The White
Paper lays out plans for new University Innovation Centres and
Technology Institutes, to concentrate on researching and
developing skills and knowledge for hi-tech industries. While
it's easy to be cynical about the sheer number of new initiatives
being announced by the DfEE currently, it will be interesting to
see how these plans translate into reality.
On a more important note(!), TrainingZONE is currently looking
