Editor's note

Since it began in 1997, TrainingZONE has accumulated a membership
of some 32,000 readers. That's a lot of people for us to get to
know personally, but we do get to hear from many of you, either
from your e-mails, comments or workshop chats.

So far, so virtual, but we'd like to meet with members in person.
We're extending an invite to any members who can make it to our
Bristol offices to join us for lunch during the next month to
tell us about their experiences of using the site. Whether
there's something frustrating you've come across, parts of the
site you particularly like and use more than others, areas you'd
like to see extended or areas you'd like us to lose altogether,
we want to hear about it. We've also got some new things
planned which we think you'll like - this is your chance to get a
sneak preview of what's in the offing!

If you would like to get involved in the ongoing development of
TrainingZONE, can spare a few hours and live or work in the
Bristol area, send an e-mail to
Lunch is on us, but unfortunately we can't cover travel costs.

p.s. The Hands On Training (H.O.T.) Conference is on course to be
an outright winner with training professionals. Delegates from
France, Malaysia and Australia as well as from throughout the UK
are attending. In the weeks since Easter, bookings have lifted
off as people recognise the need to stay ahead in the fast
changing world of training, and seek a convenient and stimulating
way of gaining new ideas. Don't miss out - get the full picture

A to Z of TrainingZONE
From Appraisal to e-learningZone, TrainingZONE topics cover the
whole of the learning and development alphabet! To make it even
easier for you to find what you're looking for, we've produced an
A-to-Z listing of all the topics, features and resources on the
site. So, if you're looking for government services to grants,
NTOs or newswire archives, professional associations or
PowerPoint help, the A-to-Z guide is the place to look first!

Feedback and evaluation
The gathering of feedback comments and evaluation results are
critical functions for many HR and Training professionals, but in
the pressure of day-to-day work these more reflective processes
are often overlooked. We believe that both Feedback and
Evaluation are critical processes in both good business
development and in our own professional development. This new
page brings together the information and resources on
TrainingZone and HR Zone relating to these issues in one place.

Diary listings
The TrainingZONE Diary service has been launched to help you find
or promote conferences, events, symposiums and exhibitions -
anywhere in the world! You can submit details of your own
forthcoming events for inclusion using the online submission
form, include hyperlinks to the conference website, and have
readers contact you automatically to request further information.
Are you running a training event, seminar or conference? Make
sure 32,000 training professionals get to hear about it by
listing it in the Diary.

This online survey - produced by Cedefop & Alphametrics - is the
first major initiative of its kind to provide a comprehensive
picture of current trends in the European e-learning market.
