Dr Meredith Belbin has to be the best-known name in research into
team dynamics over the last decade or so. His team inventory is
known to thousands through assessment centres or teamwork tests.
More recently, Dr Belbin has turned his attentions to a wider-
ranging view of what affects peoples' behaviour in the workplace,
by tracing the development of evolutionary changes in humans over
thousands of years. It's an interesting theory which is laid out
in a new book. TrainingZONE got a first-hand explanation of why

Dr Belbin's more recent work has embraced new technology to take
team analysis online. Throughout this month, we'll be placing a
