TrainingZONE LearningWire # 155 – e-learning special, Belbin interview, ‘chat about’ week

TrainingZONE LearningWIRE - Issue 155
4 June 2001

RESOURCES: Focus on e-learning
NEWS and INFORMATION: Interview of the month: Dr Meredith Belbin
WORK OPPORTUNITIES: HR Manager (Europe), Learning Designer...
COMMUNITY FEATURES: 'Chat about' week: 18-22 June

Editor's note

Dr Meredith Belbin has to be the best-known name in research into
team dynamics over the last decade or so. His team inventory is
known to thousands through assessment centres or teamwork tests.
More recently, Dr Belbin has turned his attentions to a wider-
ranging view of what affects peoples' behaviour in the workplace,
by tracing the development of evolutionary changes in humans over
thousands of years. It's an interesting theory which is laid out
in a new book. TrainingZONE got a first-hand explanation of why
'true warriors' tend to be in charge - and why they might not be
for much longer. Read the full story at

Dr Belbin's more recent work has embraced new technology to take
team analysis online. Throughout this month, we'll be placing a
special emphasis on using the Internet to assess, evaluate and
deliver learning. Anyone who's interested in finding out more
should make our e-learningZone their first port of call.
