Editor's note
=============

TrainingZONE Managing Director Tim Pickles, who founded the
community three and a half years ago, has managed its growth from
inception to today - for the first two years he wrote practically
every word that appeared on the site! From a complete clean
sheet he has created one of the UK's leading online training
resources and has also launched sister site HR Zone, which is now
well-positioned in the HR sector.

With Tim now moving on to other challenges within the Sift group
of professional communities, TrainingZONE and HR Zone are on the
lookout for someone to take over the reins and move the sites
into the next phase of their development. With a combined
membership of more than 40,000 and revenues growing strongly,
this is a great opportunity for someone to run two of the UK's
leading online publishing communities.

This month's theme: coaching and mentoring

Featured Toolkit materials: Mentoring
-------------------------------------
This week, we feature two useful resources created by Stuart
Emmett for those introducing a mentoring scheme into the
workplace, or embarking on becoming a mentor themselves.

The 'How-To' mentor guide uses a checklist approach to give model
examples of how to conduct mentoring sessions. The six-page guide
covers: mentor preparation, mentee preparation, establishing an
agenda, reviewing, mutual feedback, accountability and autonomy
and dealing with problems.

Mentors can help to powerfully develop individual learning. The
second guide contains a useful questioning checklist to help
identify and develop suitable mentors, by highlighting effective
mentor and mentee qualities and build mentor skills.

Both items are available for download now from

PowerPoint Resource Centre: Recycling your PowerPoint slides
------------------------------------------------------------
Frequent PowerPoint users probably produce a fair number of
PowerPoint slides in multiple shows. If you teach or present the
same material recurrently to different audiences, chances are
you'll have to copy slides between presentations or cut and paste
an entire new presentation together from several slide shows.
Find out how you can conserve effort by copying and reusing or
recycling your PowerPoint slides.
