This month, we take a special look at the development of training
professionals. Being focussed on the development of others on a
daily basis doesn’t mean you need to neglect your own
development, and many trainers use the insights they’ve gained
through developing others to inform their own thinking. However,
there’s more to working as a freelance trainer than workshops,
sessions and delegates, as anyone who’s been snowed under with
paperwork and tax returns will know. This month, help with
managing your business is at hand in the Library. Look out also
for a number of special themed workshops on developing trainer
skills – details are available at
https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/community/onlineevents/

Developing your business skills
——————————-
If, like many training professionals, you’ve chosen to go it
alone in offering your services, you’ll know how important – and
difficult – it is to manage your business alongside the demands
of training delivery on a weekly basis. Help and guidance to
help get on top of running a training business can now be found
in the TrainingZONE Library. Among the handy documents
available:
 – A risk assessment tool to help you establish whether it’s
worth spending time on submitting a proposal to tender
– A guide on setting a fee for your services
 – A checklist and accompanying advice on writing training
proposals
 – A comprehensive online book and manual on designing,
developing and marketing online training programmes
To access any of these documents, simply go to the Trainer
Development subject category in the Library at
https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/ppv/
