Editor's note
=============
The DfES put the final nail in the coffin for England's
Individual Learning Account scheme on 23 November with the
immediate termination of the scheme, which was due to remain open
to existing account holders for another two weeks. A DfES
announcement stated that officers from the Department's special
investigations unit had uncovered 'irregularities' the day before
after being contacted by an un-named ILA provider. It's a sorry
end for such a high-profile programme and presumably a huge
embarrassment for the government department. Have your say about
whether the scheme was doomed to fail by voting in our poll at
https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/community/surveys/
- we'll bring you the full results shortly.

ZONES
=====
These days, there aren't many organisations where the size
of training budgets isn't questioned each year, so just how
do you explain the importance of training to senior
management? Showing a Return on Investment is often
crucial, but for those without a maths degree, calculating
what seems to be incalculable at first sight looks
impossible. No problem - help is at hand, with
EvaluationZone launching early next month. To find out
