TrainingZONE Newswire #352 – Where are the Model Managers?

TrainingZONE Newswire - Issue 352
4 April 2005

1. Feature: Making E-Learning Accessible
2. Parkin Space: Simulations in Learning
3. Leadership: Visionary, Popular or Sledgehammer?
4. Vocational Training is Failing Girls - EOC Report
5. 1000 Great Quotations - Vision

Editor's note
"The core leadership strategy is simple: be a model." These
words from US organisational development guru and management
author Peter Senge seem to have had little impact in the UK. The
latest study from Investors in People found that just a third of
workers would hold up their boss as a role model, as a result
IiP says that bosses are failing to get the best out of their
staff. The research suggests that more inspirational managers
tend to be those who are team players, and involve employees
when making decisions or developing new ideas. But how can
training tackle this shortfall? Have your say:

Kind regards
