The TUC conference continues in Glasgow. Yesterday, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown delivered a speech to delegates.
The issues within the speech ranged from the successes of the government in tackling unemployment, the benefits and expansion plans for New Deal, and the error in relying on short term fixes - with particular reference to the fuel-tax protests - and plans for improving pension benefits.
The full text of the Chancellor's speech is available on the Treasury web site.
