default-16x9

NETg today announced a new contract with the University for Industry (UFI) to supply multimedia courses to learndirect, its network of development centres that opened to benefit small businesses and the general public in the UK last November. The significant deal will supply end-user courses during the second stage of the centres development between now and August 2000.

Over 7,000 learners used the 77 centres during UFI’s first development phase. Plans for the second stage of development estimate that 1,000 centres will be accessible to the public by March 2001. The learndirect centres are situated in highly accessible locations including libraries, sport and shopping centres, churches and railway stations, enabling anyone who wants to do so to learn easily. A range of interactive courses are available incorporating a full range of NETg’s desktop computing courses. These include Office 97, Introduction to the Internet and the World Wide Web, and the award winning European Computer Drivers License course (ECDL) which provides learners with a complete course in computing basics.
