University for Industry

default-16x9

Has anyone had their materials rejected by the University for Industry without real justification?
I am concerned that many small writers may not be getting recognised by UFI merely because they are small.

  1. Its for the ‘big boys’
My experience is that my son and I put in a bid to develop materials for the UFI. We needed to find financial matching from Industry. When we applied to organisations for match funding we were constantly told that we were ‘too small’ and that they were only interested in organisations like universities. I pointed out that we were far more conscientious because we had so much more to lose (our own money). Having worked in universities I know that there is a race for funding from what ever source and the resources are then shared between research staff and administrators and thus valuable development time is lost – again, a good reason to use the individual provider. I don’t know the answer. But having a moan is sometimes helpful……!
