VETNET (Vocational Education and Training NETwork)

default-16x9

VETNET is one of the European Educational Research Association (EERA)’s networks of researchers (network 2). It was created in 1994, at the University of Twente, as a multi-disciplinary platform for exchanging research results in the field of vocational education, corporate training and development, professional education and adult education. Its scope is broadly aimed at the relationship between education and training on the one hand, and the world of work on the other hand. The activities of VETNET have been geared

* to organise the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER) as for the domain of the network (designing the programme, discuss papers, organise panels, stimulate joint publications, etc.);

* to review the national research networks in the field of VET;

* to link up with other international platforms (AHRD; AERA; European Commission, CEDEFOP).

An electronic newsletter called "Updating VET Research" was set up in 1998, with a conceptual design provided by the Research Forum WIFO Berlin. The Newsletter covers seven major topics:
News from VETNET
Focus on research programs
Issues of networks and partnerships
Highlights of conferences
Towards a profession
Access to resources
Preview of events.

It has a ‘rolling’ pattern of continuing information (without individual issues or time schedule).

The VETNET homepage including the newsletter have been made available on a server hosted by the Bank Academy Frankfurt: http://www.bankakademie.de/vetnet/
