Warnings have been stepped up since the W32.sircam.worm virus reared its head last week.
This computer virus attacks PCs through the email system with an attached file. When the reader opens up the attachment, the file damage occurs. This can include deletion of all documentation on the C drive.
The virus gets into the address book of the recipient and is sent to all of the people there with the subject line containing a random file name from the affected PC.
Users should be aware of this virus as today it was upgraded by the antivirus vendor, Symantec Corp. from a category 3 (moderate) to category 4 (severe.
