I am currently working on a project to design whole set of training programme for new staff, in order to make some abstract concepts easy to understand and remember, I spent a lot of time trying to find relevant pictures, cartoon and video clips to help to illustrate some of these key points, but it seemed to be a fruitless effort, I am wondering if there are some websites full of these resource where I can find what I need and download free?

YouTube
Have you tried YouTube, as we’ve been very successful in finding clips on there that illustrate all mannner of things? It’s amazing what is (a) on there that has learning possibilites and (b) increasingly has been deliberately put up there for learning purposes.
The trick is to get the words right for your key word searches.
Regarding copyright, etc., as a provider of training services, we are only showing the clips in the classroom as part of educational discussions, which is permitted under the Fair Use terms of Section 107 of US copyright law.
copyright and accessing cartoons
Hi Alice
“Regarding copyright, etc., as a provider of training services, we are only showing the clips in the classroom as part of educational discussions, which is permitted under the Fair Use terms of Section 107 of US copyright law.”
In the UK most copyright says it can be used for education purposes providing people are not paying to attend – so be careful here. I once worked for a company that got prosecuted after a disgruntled employee blew the whistle – I would be caucous of free stuff from the web, you can rarely be sure of its origins.
Rather than spend a lot of time (and money) looking for free stuff have you not thought of commissioning your own – a set of cartoons can be done for less than a day and cost you less than £300 – and they are yours to do what you want with.

YouTube’s T&Cs
YouTube provide for the subsequent use of clips posted to their website in their T&Cs: http://www.youtube.com/t/terms
Of course, the original poster has to have the right to upload the video there in the first place…and we’re very mindful of that.
Therefore we only use clips that are very much in the “public domain”, that illustrate communication skills in action – good and bad – and these have come from submitted clips of CEOs in action or other content deliberately shared for further use. For example, spoof clipcs of a bad salesman in action.
