What kind of training is best for your company?

Computers have completely changed the world. They are now used for business and pleasure by millions of people all around the world. All the employees in a business need to be able to use a computer to word process documents, track orders, do calculations and a variety of other tasks.

One to One Training

If you have a fairly small company, or there are just a few IT illiterate people you have to deal with then one to one training might be the best option. This will get anyone who can’t use a computer up to speed as quickly as possible. This also has the advantage of dealing with the individual questions and concerns.

One to One training will however be one of the most expensive options. This may also be too difficult to use if there are lots of people in the organisation who need training. This training can take place at your company which makes it easier to rely on employees.

Offsite Training

Offsite training takes place away from the workplace of the company. This can be useful if you are training large numbers of people to use computers. A group of people can be sent for training a couple of times a week.

Offsite training may make it difficult to run the business because it will mean that there will be a few days per week where the company is missing some of its employees.

Onsite Training

Another option is to pay a training professional to visit your company. While here the trainer will be able to teach the staff how to use computers without disturbing their normal job. This onsite training is often a more affordable option for training large numbers of employees at the same time.

Onsite training is only really suitable for training large numbers of staff at the same time. This is because hiring a specialist trainer.

E-learning

Most people can use the internet, which is why e-learning could be the most affordable option. E-learning uses a web based platform where online lessons can teach you how to use office software such as Word, Excel and Project.

There are many E-learning providers out there on the internet. These are normally best for employees who can use a computer, but are unfamiliar with the current version of the software. This can provide a useful refresher course which helps to get staff up to speed.

Conclusion

Every organisation is different. This means that it can use various different techniques to teach its staff how to use computers. Depending on the skill level of the staff, different training options are suitable.

A large organisation can train its staff using either e-learning or onsite training. This training will make it easier to teach employees how to correctly use computers. This should make it much easier to get the most out of your staff.
