Firstly I'd like to thank everybody who reads this blog.
The Rise & Shine blog readership continues to grow and that's all down to you - the readers.
This week I'm looking to provoke even more thought by building on my 'Jigsaw' analogy from last week.
Here's a quick reminder:
- The 4 corners = your rocks (goals)
- The edges = your foundation (plan)
- Picture = your creation (achievement through doing)
How many of you read this and decided to do something as a result?
How many of you decided that you haven't got time right now?
How many of you told yourself that; "you've tried it before and it didn't work"?
One of my favourite questions, which I ask to all my clients (new and existing) is this;
If you don't have a goal in life, then what are you aiming for?
The best time to start focusing on your goals or dreams is...NOW
If by becoming a Sales Trainer you'd be happier in life; why wait?
If by setting up your own business you'd have more time with the kids; why wait?
If by seeking the right coaching you'd be able to grow your business; why wait?
Each of you has to start somewhere.
Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Richard Branson, Michael Marks & Thomas Spencer all started somewhere!
Many of you will know the name Usain Bolt - the fastest man on the planet right now.
The question I would like to ask is this; What's he doing when the spotlight isn't on him?
Some of you will say; "he's saving his energy for the big races and training at a lower intensity".
Some of you may look at it the other way and say; "he's giving it all and working just as hard in training as he would in the race".
Some of you may say: "we don't know because we only see him in a race".
The answer is this: whilst we may not see him in training, he is in fact training just as hard (if not harder) in preparation for the big race.
How do I know this?
Like any successful person in life, in order for you to perform when the spotlight is on you, you must first of all put in the time and effort when the spotlight isn't on you. This is what separates the achievers from the non-achievers.
When you think back to your goals or dreams, ask yourself the same question?
What are you doing when the spotlight isn't on you?
The answers may help you to understand why you're not where you want to be, or making progress as quickly as you'd like to...
There is no secret to achieving goals or dreams, only remember this; point in the direction that you want to arrive everyday!
Have a great week and keep your comments coming.
Regards
Jeff
