Where I can get information on Coaching and Consulting Models?

I would like to get more information on coaching and consulting models, such as GROW, SPIN, and would appreciate any thoughts on where this could be found.

  1. Information on GROW
I have a book by John Whitmore called ‘Coaching for Performance’ which explains the GROW model. This is a sequence of questions which can be used to structure a coaching session. GOAL setting, REALITY check, OPTIONS, WHAT is to be done WHEN and by WHOM.

    Hope this is useful.

  2. Try Myles Downey and David Clutterbuck
Marcus – Myles Downey’s latest book Effective Coaching contains an explanation of a variation of the GROW model (page 29). David Clutterbuck has his own version for Mentoring sessions which could be shaped to suit coaching. Call David’s office at CAMS 01628 661 667. I am in the market for this information myself ie alternative coaching methodologies! Good luck from Oz.

  3. Books about managers as coaches
I have collected a list of books about managers as coaches. The books have been published betveen 1990…1999. At the moment there are about 40 books in the list and I am trying to keep it up-to-date. If you send me your e-mail address I can send you the list. My e-mail address is kari.lahti@psyko.fi

  4. Coaching website
You may find the Coaching & Mentoring Network website a useful resource – it’s an information-based website dedicated to coaching and mentoring. It contains a number of articles and a bookshop as well as useful contacts. If you can’t find what you are looking for on the site then get in touch – we have a wealth of information and contacts – (free of charge!)
