Why profile yourself?

default-16x9

Over the last few weeks, you may have noticed that we've been making increased mention of profiling on the site. Why are we doing this? It's all part of our aim to get to know our members better to make sure you get what you need from the site, and to help us keep some of the most popular areas of the site free to access.

Along with user group meetings and surveys, profiling allows you to tell us about your specific interests so we can personalise the site for you.

What does profiling involve?

Filling out a short form to tell us more about yourself. We'll ask you for a username and password - if you're a registered member, you'll have these already - your contact details, professional interests and details about the type of organisation in which you work. You can amend these details at any time by going to My Profile.

What are the main benefits of profiling?

Profiling already allows you to establish your own personalised news service through My News. When you choose your interests from the list, My News selects these and displays just the news items related to your interests on your My News page. To access My News now, simply go to My TrainingZONE. Over the next few months, a number of high-quality areas of the site will be made available to profiled users only.

TrainingZONE depends on its advertising income to keep nearly all of the site free to access - without it, we'd have to charge members to view news, Any Answers, our Directories and many of the other popular areas of the site.

What happens to the information I give you?

The information you give us will be compiled into summary statistics which we use to establish who's using TrainingZONE and why. We share these summary statistics with our advertisers so they can be sure you'll be interested in what they have to say. We will only share your details with third parties if you express an interest in receiving this information on your profile page.

Make sure you don't miss out on all of TrainingZONE's free resources and services - Profile yourself now!
