Work skills training for the unemployed

default-16x9

Unemployed people are to undergo intensive skills for work training, under a Government scheme announced by the Chancellor today.

Chancellor Gordon Brown's pre-budget report sets out a plan to pilot mandatory intensive work-focused courses for those aged 25 or over who have been unemployed for six months or more.

The pilots are to be set up in 10 areas of the UK, which are yet to be named, from June 2005.
