If you like what you see on TrainingZONE and HR Zone, we'd like you to yell about it!
Last year, TrainingZONE received a Highly Commended in the Yell Awards, which are presented to sites nominated by users around the country which make up 'the best of the net'.
The category awards up for grabs are: Best Arts and Music site, Best Charity site, Best Commerce site, Best Community site, Best Education site, Best Finance site, Best Funny site, Best Games site, Best Kids and Youth site, Best Media site, Best Sports site and Best Travel and Leisure site. Last year's overall winner was Gameplay.com, which also took the Best Youth site award.
Of course, much as we'd like to, we can't vote for ourselves, so we suggest that if TrainingZONE or HR Zone (or indeed any other site) is a particular favourite, you make your nominations now by going to http://uk.yell.com/awards/nominate.html
Meanwhile, a Yell.com survey suggests that TrainingZONE is up with the most popular sites on the web because of its subject matter. The survey found that over a third of web users rate education and learning websites as their favourite most-used sites, with students, parents and others in the world of work using the Internet as a virtual classroom to build on their knowledge and skills. More women than men are using the Internet for education, the survey reveals, with 20 per cent of women and 12 per cent of men saying the Internet has allowed them to pursue their education.
Yell.com notes that Arts and Music and Media sites are the next most popular (with just under a third of the vote for each), but comments that sites specialising in fun and games may find themselves having to work harder to capture the public's imagination.
