The new ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures will come into effect on 4 September. The new rules result from powers granted under the Employment Relations Act 1999.

The new code will grant rights to employees to be accompanied in disciplinary and grievance procedures for all invitations or requests made on or after the 4th September. It should be noted that the date is applicable to the date of the invitation or request and not the hearing itself.

The ACAS code is available in .pdf format requiring the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader.
