Does any one know of any good tools/articles/books etc to help with a 360 session with a person, both for the individual and for their manager?

  1. 360 websites/articles
Having just introduced 360 here – these were most useful.

BPS Best practice guidelines can be downloaded at

    DTI website

Hope these help – also have a briefing document that we send to all those being rated and those rating them. If you want to see it let me know.

  2. 360 Degree Feedback
    Hi Jackie

I do have one book which I have found quite useful. “360 degree Feedback” Mark R Edwards and Ann Ewen – ISBN 0814403263.

In my own personal experience of rolling out 360 degree feedback programmes, I would strongly advocate short briefings/training sessions before the event for those providing the feedback to the subject. Very often, team members providing the feedback don’t necessarily have any experience in giving feedback in a constructive way and this can damage the exercise.

I also believe it is essential to provide debrief sessions for all those receiving feedback so that they fully understand the data they are being given, they know how to use that data for their own personal development and to answer any questions, queries, concerns the individual may have.

If you would like to chat about this some more, please do give me a call and I will be happy to help.

  4. 360 Book
A book I’ve found useful in the past is ‘360-Degree Appraisal’ by Steve France. It was published by The Industrial Society in 1997 (sorry I don’t have the ISBN number)
