Stress Management

Does anyone have any experience of designing a one day stress management course? I'm looking for some advise on putting one together and also what to include.

Dealing with stress is a pretty big subject – as it involves understanding of the physical condition, self-esteem, communication skills, time management etc etc. .

It’s hard to do much worthwhile in a day as, in addition to telling them about what stress is, and why it’s so damaging; you need to give them an opportunity to make an inventory of what gives them stress, and what they normally do about it, if anything.

The Stress Workbook by Warren & Toll (Nicholas Brealey) is a useful resource and there are dozens of other books on the market.

We do a 2 and half day workshop – which includes all the basics, plus a bit of yoga, breathing and lots of reflection. Even then, it’s always a struggle to cover everything; as groups often really get into talking about the sources of stress and what they can do to change the organisation. Good luck!

If you let me have your contact details, I will let you have an outline along with suggested input/practical exercises for a day programme.
