The Institute of Personnel and Development has lauched an online Training and Development Network for its members - but restricts access to IPD members only.
The IPD claims that nearly half its members are involved in training. This new service offers a range of bulletin boards (with conferences on training technology, training methods, etc.), a listing of current IPD research, a public policy area, books and articles of interest to trainers, and some 'hot links' to non-commercial sites - listing just three at present.
It will be interesting to see how this new service develops. It lacks the openness of the ASTD Virtual Community for trainers or the TrainingZone site as you have to be a member to enter.
