A new certificate for Market Researchers has been launched by the Market Research Society.
The new Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice, which is being piloted at nine accredited centres initially and will launch for proper next October, is being recommended as an introduction to the field of Market Research for newcomers. It will follow much of an existing syllabus but will also contain new topics on Data Protection, using the Internet as a research tool, Data Mining and Data Fusion. Tutorials are provided by the accredited centres and assessment takes the form of an integrative assignment and an exam.
Students can study for the certificate on a full- or part-time basis, and there are also plans to make tuition available over the internet.
