In signs of increasing consolidation within the e-learning market, DigitalThink recently announced its intention of acquiring LearningByte International, a US-based custom e-learning content house. LearningByte has a strong track record of custom content solutions in the US and has been particularly active in the automative and airline sectors.
The acquisition should be compled by September 30th and is being funded through the issue of new shares valuing LearnignByte at approximately $60M.
We think this move as further indication of the rationalisation of the e-learning market place as it heads out of embryonic and into mainstream.
