   I have nothing direct to help – I’m not entirely sure what Brain Based Learning actually means!!

   I always use http://www.google.com to search the web – it is not only very quick, but seems to get me to where I want to go very quickly – no searching through 230000000000 instances of the search phrase!!

3. Yes – I can help

4. This might point you in the right direction….
   I have just completed an NLP course, which focused quite a lot on the brain, and how you get different sides of the brain to work effectively through different exercises.
   I also know of a training company in Hove,East Sussex, which does ‘Brain Gym’ training. They are called ‘Oddball’if you want to contact them for more information.

6. Brain (and body) based learning
   Hi Damian

   Brain based learning developed out of the brain research carried out since the 1950s. Eric Jensen is indeed one of the leading authors on the subject – his enthusiasm is certainly contagious and well-founded! (Incidentally, my view is that BBL, and its close cousin Accelerated Learning, are different in many ways from NLP. Do check out the differences yourself.)

   What kind of information do you need to provide? If it’s books, talk to the Accelerated Learning centre on 01267 211880, who have the best stocks of brain based learning books in the UK, including Eric Jensen. I’d also recommend ‘The Learning Revolution’ by Gordon Dryden and Jeanette Vos. 7. brain friendly learning
   Although scientists and physicians have been studying the brain for centuries, it’s only in the last few years that the tools have been available to study human brains while they are in action. The result has been an explosion in understanding how the brain works, with many applications to learning, teaching and training.

   Brain based learning is the application of these new findings from neuroscience to the business of providing learning experiences. For example, learning occurs when collections of brain cells fire in a particular way. Brain cells need a certain amount of adrenaline to communicate. So a key aspect of brain based learning is ensuring that learners are in a resourceful state for learning – ie with the right amount of adrenaline (but not too much – that’s a different story!)

   I agree with Mark’s comments and recommendations for further reading. Another very useful book is called the Owner’s Manual for the Brain, by Pierce Howard.
