  1. Independent Resellers
    Alison

You may like to consider discussing your requirements with an independent supplier who can then match your needs with the leading product vendors, allowing you to then evaluate each one but saving you the time of having to set everything up yourself.

If this sounds of interest, drop me an email

  2. e-learning for sales people – targeting the right supplier
Implementing an e-learning solution can provide you with an excellent way to provide a dispersed audience with targeted training. This lends itself very neatly with a sales team, normally scattered around the country or globe.

My experience with e-learning solutions has driven me to advocate a blended solution, where people use e-learning to help themselves build a basic level of knowledge. They can then move on to working with their colleagues for a more technical understanding of the environment they are in, either in a classroom, workshops, or team meetings. From here they move back to building additional skills through e-learning, and looking at using this ideal medium to provide them with a mentor for continued growth and support.

I can certainly put you in contact with companies that can readily supply this type of material, and would be more than willing to talk to you about this further to help you get in contact with a supplier that can fit your needs.

  3. Getting started…
    Alison,

It would be a good idea to get your own requirements clear before talking to specific organisations.

At what level are you aiming (sales for non-sales people up to ongoing development of experienced staff)? If you want a broad range you may need to consider multiple vendors.

What skills/techniques/subjects are you trying to cover? Are some of them specific to your organisation, and which therefore require a bespoke solution? Which would work best as e-learning and which may have to be face-to-face for most value? How volatile is the information you need to cover?

What is the culture of your company? It tends to have a big bearing on learning, especially for organisation such as Sales!

What technology do your sales staff have available for learning? How skilled are they as PC users?

What are your overall priorities and constraints?

Then make use of some independent advice on vendors. Some of the best solutions are found from experienced sales staff who have moved into the learning market, but worked with appropriate development organisations with a knowledge of the technology and learning/e-learning theory. It is rare to find one organisation that has all 3 skills.
