Implementing a Document Management System – training aspects

default-16x9

I am a trainer with an European regulatory body, and we will be implementing Documentum, a DMS, and apart from what the consultants are providing, I would like to have more backup resources (user & technical) for training and the future support of staff.
Any ideas, good books, or referrals to those who have this system already or similar will be more than welcome.

  1. Document Management
I was involved in implementing a DMS with 200+ users, and the main issue to deal with was how to name the documents created, to ensure fast retrieval and searching. Agree a standard naming convention for documentation. Involve technical support, project directors, management, and users in the decision making process; ensure it’s a logical system.

The project I was involved in never agreed a naming convention, the consequences were over-stretched servers, frustrated users, and a busy helpdesk.

    Hope this helps.
