Overview of the BETT 2001 show

default-16x9

Each year the BETT show is steadily growing in recognition and becoming established as a leading exhibition and conference for Information and Communications Technology in education.

This year there are a host of new features that are joining exhibitors that also attend regularly, thus resulting in an expansion of the show into a new hall at London's Olympia exhibition centre. Another reason for this expansion is to allow for the addition of two new areas that have been dedicated to Further, Higher and Vocational Education, Distance Learning and the Skills Agenda, entitled 'Future Skills' and 'Learning Futures'.

This area will be devoted to high-end technological developments including robotics, cybernetics, immersive and virtual technologies.

BETT's dedicated Special Needs Village has also been expanded to allow for the growth and development this sector has seen over recent years and will provide the physical link between the Show's two hall, including wider aisles for wheelchair access.

BETT 2001 seminar schedule which is being sponsored this year by Toshiba, feature keynote addressees from Industry's leading experts, such as Angela McFarlane, Professor of Education, Bristol University who will be discussing the complex reality behind the headline impact of ICT in education, Lord David Puttnam, discussing the impact of ICT in education on teachers, learners, parents and institutions, Professor Stephen Heppell, director of ULTRALab at Anglia Polytechnic University discussing the diverse and creative curriculum and Michael Stevenson, Acting Joint Director of Factual and Learning at the BBC covering driving educational standards: creativity through Digital Media.
