Digital Media organisation the EMMA Foundation has announced the winners of this years International EMMA Awards. Entries from over 40 countries competed for the awards, given to 'recognise excellence in digital media content creation', which were presented at an online ceremony on the EMMA website - the awards were judged in Amsterdam.
In the Education and Home Learning category, Auralog took the Adult Award for their French beginner level course, with the Experience Music Project taking the award for Adult Online Learning for its interactive popular music site.
Auralog also picked up the Training Award in the Business Category, with Intiution Publishing picking up the Training Online Award for their work on devising the first online surgical training programme. Nominees in this category included Andersen Consulting and Siemens and Harvard Business School Publishing.
The foundation awarded a special award to the company behind gogo.com, an entertainment site with some impressive graphics. Although Tony Blair has gained something of a reputation for his lack of internet-savvy, he can at least celebrate the fact that Bates Interactive, the company who designed the website for Number 10 Downing Street picked up the award for Best Government Online!
A not-for-profit organisation, the EMMA Foundation aims to encourage the creative,technical and professional development of the digital industry and promote the creation of high quality products.
