When Bank One Corporation, the US's sixth largest bank holding company, needed to train more than 10,000 consumer banking and investment management employees on a new computer system, it chose PlaceWare Web conferencing.
Before PlaceWare, training sessions were conducted in a traditional classroom setting, which required attendees to waste time travelling to a central location. But employees can now take part in sessions at their desks, making them more available to serve customers.
"Bank One has radically enhanced productivity and cut travel expenses over the past 18 months by using PlaceWare," said Donald Dennis, first Vice President of Enterprise Messaging and Groupware at Bank One.
"We selected PlaceWare based on its ease of use, reliability, and scalability. It has allowed us to train more employees faster and more efficiently than we could have if we had had to fly them to a central
location for training sessions."
Bank One's average meeting includes 5 to 10 people, but it has held meetings for as many as 600 attendees using PlaceWare. Over the past year, the company has had 15,000 distinct PlaceWare users, hosted more than 11,000 PlaceWare meetings, and estimates 65,000 in total PlaceWare meeting attendance.
