The Samaritans has won the International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) gold e-learning award for its Worklife CD-Rom - an interactive learning resource to help busy managers tackle the causes of stress in the workplace.
The IVCA judges’ described the charity's e-learning as: “An engaging and well-produced package bringing credible scenarios to life with a light touch. A range of diverse navigation interfaces kept the panel engaged in this well-needed management resource.”
WorkLife has been designed to support the Health and Safety Executive’s standards and guidelines for tackling work-related stress.
Samaritans’ external training services co-ordinator Jonathan Moran said: “The number of working days lost to stress related illness increases year on year. As the emotional health charity Samaritans has been highlighting the importance of tackling this issue and the danger of ignoring it, since the launch of our WorkLife training programme last year. Our first fully interactive CD-ROM sets the standard as a resource to equip managers with the skills and confidence to help staff feel valued and motivated in the workplace, increasing productivity and profitability. We are delighted to have worked with Media Trust Productions who produced the CD-ROM and brought our ideas to life in a creative and believable way.”
