Having difficulty estimating your return on investment for e-learning courseware? Here is some food for thought on course longevity.
Courseware developed for training pilots in the pre-Windows era has been given a new lease of life, due to a new piece of software developed by VEGA Group.
According to Martin Blomley, director of VEGA Group’s commerce and industry group: “The challenge facing many of today’s training managers is how to retain instructionally valid DOS-based courseware that are not fully compatible with current operating systems standards, such as Windows 95/98 or NT.”
In response to these needs, VEGA Group has produced WinPCD –initially for airlines and specialist aviation training organisations. Exclusively available to VEGA group’s clients, WinPCD is a Windows 32-bit application that delivers courseware under Windows 95/98 - thus avoiding the need for special hardware configurations and other non-application software, while also producing standard Windows features such as being able to access other Windows-based programs simultaneously.
