IBM have recently announced that their latest version of ViaVoice for Windows has made talking to the computer easier, faster and more accurate.
Four products are included to meet the needs of all those who will be using the product. New enhancements are:
- A Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity noise-cancelling microphone
- Faster set-up time
- Improved correction capabilities and expanded command
- Control features for voice-navigation of the desktop
They have also included a voice template tool, called ViaVoice Documents that enhance dictation into e-mail, forms, memos and fax templates.

The ViaVoice for Windows, Release 8.0 Product Family Viavoice for Windows, Release 8.0 includes, Pro, Advanced, Standard and Personal. Features of each include:
- Viavoice for Windows, Pro Edition has the greatest power for maximum efficiency and productivity.
- ViaVoice for Windows, Advanced Edition also provides natural language commands for control over voice recognition dictation as well as command and control for easy navigation of the desktop and the web. Users can use the Internet, create e-mail and conduct voice chats with ViaVoice for Windows.
- ViaVoice for Windows, Standard Edition is aimed aimed at the user who is primarily interested in dictating text into Microsoft Word or ViaVoice SpeakPad, IBM's speech-enabled word processor.
- ViaVoice for Windows, Personal Edition is IBM's entry-level speed recognition solution, perfect for beginners or entry-level users. It has improved accuracy and performance.
