Training people about lots of products

default-16x9

We do a good job training people online how to sell products, however our customer now wants us to train them to "know" the products themselves: the name, basic description, price. Given there are perhaps 100 products, what is a proven way to do this? What if most of this has to happen online?

Currently we're thinking about a couple of options: one, breaking training into approx 10 products per day and train over a couple of weeks. Two, requiring that management do this and certify employee completion. Three, providing the info, allowing the employee to study over time, then requiring a test to pass and be certified.

Are there any best-practices for this?
