I recently attended a 5 day training cost by what I perceived to be a reputable provider. Unfortunately the course did not deliver what it said it would and was not at the advanced level advertised.
I complained at the time and asked for a proportion of my money to be returned (based on the value I felt the course was to me). At that time the director of the company agreed to the refund.
10 weeks and several emails later I still have not received my refund despite having been told he has signed off the cheque. I have written to inform them that I have not received this and am still no further forward.
Can anyone advise what my next steps might be to getting my money back?

Did you pay for this personally or by credit card? If you did you are better proteced than if bought with a company cheque. Contact your credit card provider and ask for their procedure to gain a full refund.
If the training course is promoted in the mediia you can also contact the ASA.
If there routes do not work, a last resourte is to name and shame on appropriate forums – not to ‘dis’ them but to show a case study of poor advertising and customer care.
