I have just finished reading Garr Reynolds book ‘Presentation Zen’ and it is absolutely superb. Using powerful examples to illustrate concepts and ideas Reynolds indisputably shows how when appropriate and well designed visual imagery using PowerPoint can add an immense amount of impact and clarity to a subject to underpin discussion, facilitation and learning.
I recommend it to anyone who might want to turn away from the general tedium and awfulness that is typical of PowerPoint Presentations. The book will not explain how PowerPoint works but it will explain how to enhance communication using appropriate visuals, not just another PowerPoint Slide.
Guy Kawasaki wrote the forward to the book but he did it brilliantly whilst also paying Garr Reynolds the biggest compliment by practising what he preached. Take a look at Kawasaki’s forward here and it will give you some idea of what this book teaches:
