Hi Russ – I’ve put the original post in today’s newsletter to see if you get any more responses, although in my experience surveys always have a very low engagement rate, even if you stress that they’re quick/simple/relevant, as people still struggle to see the benefit to them – we’ve experimented with different incentives, but overall it just seems to be a matter of giving wider context to why the survey should be of interest (part of some research which you will then share, developing or improving site/tool functionality…)

I agree with Shonette Russ, there’s not much context given to why you are asking and what you will do with the research. There’s always the issue of making clear what’s in it for me.
The second point is that, for whatever reason, people just don’t seem to comment on here that much and there doesn’t seem to be as much interest in discussing issues in general.

It’s much more challenging to get discussions going – not helped by the fact that the Discuss area is quite hidden compared to when it was Any Answers on the old site! Something we’re definitely looking to change in the near future, as I think this area is one of the most interesting parts of the site and has the potential to be much more.
