Let me try again – writing about learning strategy creation

default-16x9

About 2 years ago I started writing a series of blog posts on this site about creating a learning and development strategy, but I stopped halfway because it didn’t feel right. Now I’m back again but with a different view of what a learning and development strategy is. So I want to complete what I started two years ago but didn’t finish. To start with I don’t even like calling it a learning and development strategy, way too long for me. I prefer learning strategy and the areas I will focus on are:

  • What a learning strategy is

  • Why having a learning strategy is important

  • Six key questions to create a learning strategy

Another interesting thing I discovered (well I have known about it for about 3 years now) which you probably already know about is the Business Generation Model (BGM). The BGM is a framework for developing business models and in some cases write business plans. But organisations are using it to develop new products and services, improve business processes and launch start-ups. I thought, how about using it to create a learning strategy? The thought of that to me is really interesting, so look out for some writing on that too. But seriously if you don’t know about the BMG then have a look at it. You can learn some more about it here - https://canvanizer.com/new/business-model-canvas.

Watch out, my first post will be about what a learning strategy is.
