A short introduction

default-16x9

Hopefully you won’t have noticed that there’s something a little bit different around here onTrainingZone.co.uk, because with any luck the transition has gone smoothly enough to be seamless, nay virtually invisible; but Verity, our incumbent editor, is off on maternity leave and has left the community in my equally (fingers crossed) capable hands. Hers are big boots to fill, as she has nurtured and grown this community of trainers, coaches and leaders superbly over the last few months, but it won’t take too much for her good work to continue under my supervision  - as well as the TZ membership’s – if we continue to foster debate and intelligent analysis and comment as we have done about the ever-changing training industry.

And it’s not like there’s a dearth of topics and events to fuel our imagination and enthusiasm over the next few months either: we’ve got World of Learning, Online Educa and TrainingZone Live (to name a handful), all of which we’ll be covering in more detail nearer the time; but for the mo they’re firmly on our radars as some of the most important events in the upcoming training calendar.

Aside from the change of personnel behind the scenes, it’s business as usual here with the monthly mix of webinars, discussion groups and industry opinion, and as of Monday I’m cycling without stabilisers, so be gentle with me if I cross-post something in the wrong section or forget someone’s name initially.

A bit about myself – before accepting the position of acting editor of TrainingZone.co.uk I worked in various media agencies (including a previous stint at Sift Media, TZ’s parent company) and also several corporate roles too; so what do I bring to the party? An in-depth working knowledge of corporate infrastructure and some of its accompanying training techniques, coupled with plenty of experience of digital publishing, social media, writing and video editing, which will hopefully lend itself well to TrainingZone’s digital multimedia platform. I look forward to plenty of contact with the training community in the months that lie ahead.

So until next time, let’s keep the community alive with debate, opinion and insight into the constantly evolving and exciting world of training, learning and development.

    Hi John

Welcome along, hope you enjoy your time as Editor at TZ, I’m sure you’ll do a great job 🙂

Be nice to touch base once you’re used to the stabilisers being off.
