Activities for Leadership Training

default-16x9

I'm going to conduct a generic leadership training to a group of 4 within 45 minutes including lecture. So I need an activity which lasts no more than 20 minutes (including debriefing) to illustrate any leadership concepts, or leadership skills etc. Hope anyone could share and shed light for me.

Thanks,
Alice Ma

  1. Leadership
    Hi Alice,

I was asked to deliver a workshop on leadership to a group of 6th formers two years ago. The brief was no jargon or management speak and tomake it lively, interactive, enjoyable and useful.

So I designed four practical group exercises 5 minutes long, each designed to highlight an aspect of leadership – instructing, coaching, supporting and delegating.

These were carried out by groups of four so that each person had experience of one of the leadership situations and experienced the other three as a follower.

After each exercise there was a de-brief to pull out major learning points from the groups.

The time I had was 45 minutes although the 6th formers were late arriving from assembly!!

We managed to get through everything and identify some useful Learnings in about 38 minutes!

One thing I did insist on was that no-one sat down throughout the workshop which was met by accusations of human rights abuses etc. However they did all comply and it certainly added energy to the session as well as being a good example of leadership by instruction/ direction.

If you want copies of the exercises please contact me directly for them and the trainer agenda / running order etc.

    Cheers.
