1. Before and After Expectations

   Hi,

   One thing that I have used in many sessions is delegate expectations before and then reviewed after the session.

   So basically you have all delegates write down what they feel a Team Leader role consists of and then after the training you go through what the expectations are after in comparison to before. This can be quite interesting and I have used to to identify knowledge gaps with some groups.

2. depending on their roles and responsibilities…..

   You could write a half dozen simple scenarios that end with the question "What are YOU going to do next?"

   These could range from things that are clearly their responsibility, such as seeing evidence of bullying

   Through to something that is marginal or discretionary…such as comforting someone who is homesick

   Through to something that is perhaps outside their responsibility such as a romantic relationship between two campers

   Through to some "red herrings" such as seeing a camper injecting himself/herself…and turning out (after they have responded) to be a diabetic….which then opens up issues of the responsibility to share that information with other team leaders/camp management.

   You could have given them a written document of their role and responsibilities before hand or issue it at the training event and get them to research it in order to formulate their responses to the scenarios
