Attitudes in Selling

default-16x9

Hi All

I use the following example as a demonstration of how important attitude is in selling.

Two competing shoe sales people are sent to a tropical island to generate business. One sends a message back to head office saying "bad news, the islanders don't wear shoes" the other sends a message saying "great news, none of the islanders have a pair of shoes".

Does anybody have any similar examples.

    Hi Damian,
Along the same lines I use the following.

I have found this a good opening to how optimistic/pessimistic feelings can infulence the sale/negotiation. Also nlp – positivity in behaviour and how it changes you and anothers point of view.

Either written on a flipchart /OHP or powerpoint and ask the group to read what it says:

    OPPERTUNITYISNOWHERE

Those optimistic/postive thinkers see that OPPERTUNITY IS NOW HERE, while the pessimists this it is NO WHERE

    Looking forward to any others…
