Auditing the training department

default-16x9

Hi

I'm an ex trainer and now a quality assurance manager. I need to audit the training department at work. does anyone have any advice they could give, or even know where there is an audit template I can use?

Many thanks

  1. QMS

    Hi Lesley

Not sure if a template would help? Can't you just look at the Quality Management System and report against that? Is there a process map for each procedure?

  2. E&T Standards

    Hi Lesley.

A good starting point would be the E&T(Education and Training) Standards devloped by the NHS. They will give you a number of areas to concentrate your audit.

    http://systems.hscic.gov.uk/icd/informspec/etd/standards

"The E&T standards are the recognised standard for NHS training services and define best practice for the design, development, delivery, evaluation and assessment of training solutions across the NHS. They have been developed by the Training Quality Improvement team in collaboration with the NHS training community. Their purpose is to support training services in improving the quality of their training."

  3. Replying to Steve and James

    Hi both

Many thanks for helping me out. Steve, at the moment I am busy formerly setting up the QMS and that doesn't really help with auditing the training department. But many thanks for replying, I really appreciate it. James, your suggestion was spot on and I will certainly use the E&T standards to form the basis of the audit. Many, many thanks indeed!
