I have a poster of Bloom's Taxonomy and have over written "Understanding" with "Comprehending"
No particular reason other than it "feels" better.
Am I wrong to do this and why...answers on a postcard.
Thanks

I think as learners and in scenarios where we are managed we're so used to being asked if we "understand" something as a leading question, to which we answer Yes! That I understand where you are coming from.
I think when phrasing objectives it's often easy to put "to understand" at the begining of an objective without thinking about what builds up to that understanding. I think the word comprehend has a deeper meaning in that sense and encourages us to think about the constituate parts of the process.
I don't think it matters paticularly which word we use as long as we don't close off ourselves and our learners to considering all the elements need to fully understand something and present these alongside the appropriate broader "understanding"
