Inspired by a recent study on the training profession, Brain bath?! this week returns to the age old topic of training stereotypes. Are you party animals, obsessed with networking and board breaking?
You do fit the stereotype if you:-
1. You attend every party, lunch conference with guest speakers/minor celebrities galore (you love a good network).
2. Are touchy feely – you are very aware of body language and building a rapport.
3. Dress in a smart-casual ready-for-anything-way.
4. Are constantly learning (professional student).
5. Are always trying new activities e.g. circus skills such as acrobatics, juggling.
6. Use phrases like: - ‘engaging the learner’ and ‘constraints of time and space’.
7. Are more rock than pop?
8. Have a large collection of stress toys.
9. Are a big fan of NLP.
10. If your favourite holiday destination is the Birmingham NEC.
For all its campaigning efforts, Brain bath?! always seeks to keep its finger on the professional pulse. Could there be TrainingZONE members who feel the days of this stereotype are numbered and a new generation of training professionals has arrived.
What we need here is one of our trademark interactive market samples. Share your anecdotes with The Brain bath?! by posting a comment below and help us document the training's industry social anthropology. If you have a photo that proves you do/don't fit the stereotype - even better. Email it to me the community manager Dawn-Marie Dart and we'll include it in your comment.
