We are curently running a training programme for Supervisors and are doing a short session on budgetary control and managing resources. Does anyone have a case study that could be used within a production/manufacturing industry, which would bring out key learning points of planning, identifying resources, monitoring progress, acceptable variances, contingency planning e.t.c. If anyone had any examples I'd be happy to discuss in more detail.

Hi Denise
Some while ago you posted a question about budgetary control and were after a case study. I wondered if I could pick your brains about what you included in your short session. I’ve been asked to put together a short (up to 2 hours) session on this topic for heads of depts (non-finance people) and just wanted to check what sorts of things I should include. Any help would be gratefully received.
